Eligibility criteria
Educational Qualification:
Candidates applying for the Assistant Professor (Contractual) post at Tezpur University – Centre for Professional Development & Training (CPDT) must meet the following eligibility criteria.
Essential Qualification:
1. Candidates must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale) in any discipline from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. In addition to the above qualification, candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC/CSIR or a similar test such as SLET/SET accredited by UGC.
3. Ph.D. holders who have obtained their degree in accordance with UGC Regulations 2009/2016 are exempted from NET/SLET/SET.
4. Candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 may also be exempted from NET/SLET/SET if they meet the following conditions:
• Ph.D. degree awarded in regular mode
• Thesis evaluated by at least two external examiners
• Successful Ph.D. viva-voce conducted
• At least two research papers published, with one in a refereed journal
• At least two research papers presented in conferences/seminars
5. Candidates should also have experience in teaching or organizing faculty development/training programs, such as Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) or HRDC programs in a recognized university or institute.
Alternative Qualification:
Candidates who have obtained a Ph.D. degree from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 universities in the world (according to QS, Times Higher Education, or ARWU rankings) are also eligible.
Desirable Qualification:
• Preference will be given to candidates who have:
• Degree/Certificate or experience in Professional Courses or Training Programs
• Experience in running courses or programs in self-sustainable mode
• Knowledge of ICT-based teaching, pedagogy and professional courses
• Ability to teach or conduct programs in English, Hindi and Assamese
Salary: Selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹80,000. No additional allowances will be provided.
