The appointment for Contractual Faculty in the Department of Physics at Tezpur University is for a period of Eleven (11) months only.
Educational Qualification
Educational Qualification (Eligibility Criteria)
A.
1. A Master’s degree with 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) in a concerned / relevant / allied subject (Physics) from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
2. Candidates must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or CSIR, or a similar test accredited by the UGC (like SLET/SET), or must hold a Ph.D. degree in accordance with the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016.
Exemption from NET/SLET/SET:
Candidates registered for the Ph.D. programme before July 11, 2009 are exempted from the NET/SLET/SET requirement if they fulfill the following:
The Ph.D. degree was awarded in regular mode.
The Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners.
An open Ph.D. viva-voce was conducted.
At least one research paper from the Ph.D. work published in a refereed journal.
At least two papers presented in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or similar agencies.

Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (any time) by any of the following:
QS (Quacquarelli Symonds)
Times Higher Education (THE)
Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai)
Salary / Emoluments
Appointed Faculty will be paid a fixed monthly emolument of ₹80,000/- (Eighty Thousand only).
No other allowances will be admissible.
