Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) invites online applications for 2623 Apprentice positions under the Apprentices Act, 1961. Eligible candidates must register on the NAPS portal (for ITI trades) or NATS portal (for Graduate and Diploma trades) and then apply online through the ONGC Apprentice Portal. No offline applications will be accepted. Apply only for one trade and one location.Eligible candidates can apply for Apprentice vacancies across 25 work centres in India.

 Qualification & Eligibility Criteria:

Government Job Notification


Salary/Stipend (Per Month):

Graduate Apprentice B.A / B.Com / B.Sc / B.B.A / B.E / B.Tech ₹12,300/-

Three years Diploma Apprentice (Engineering ) 3 Years Diploma ₹10,900/-

Trade Apprentice (10th/12th) ₹8,200/-

Trade Apprentice (1-Year ITI) ₹9,600/-

Trade Apprentice (2-Year ITI) ₹10,560/-



Age Limit (as on 06.11.2025):

Minimum Age: 18 years

Maximum Age: 24 years

DOB between: 06.11.2001 and 06.11.2007


Age Relaxation:

SC/ST: 5 years

OBC (NCL): 3 years

PwBD: 10–15 years (as per category)


Selection Process:

Based on merit of qualifying marks.

In case of a tie, older candidate gets preference.

No exam or interview will be held.

Reservation as per Govt. of India rules (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD).



Qualification Note:

Apply only if you have the minimum required qualification and meet all parameters.

Distance learning qualifications are accepted if recognized by statutory bodies.

Electrician trade requires ITI in Electrician — Wireman trade not accepted.

Degree and diploma must be recognized by UGC/AICTE/SBTE/NCVT.

Duration of Training: 12 months for all trades.

Candidates who have already undergone Apprenticeship or have job/training experience of 1 year or more are not eligible.

Candidate should not have completed 3 years after passing the qualifying exam as on 06.11.2025.

ONGC has no obligation to offer regular employment after training.

Engagement is subject to medical fitness and document verification.

Corrigendum/Addendum (if any) will be available only on ONGC/NAPS/NATS websites.

Incomplete applications will be rejected.






How to Apply for ONGC Apprentice Recruitment 2025



Step 1: Check Eligibility


Before applying, make sure you are eligible for the post.

Check your qualification, age, and domicile (home district) as mentioned in the notification and Annexure–1.

You can apply for only one work centre and one trade.


Step 2: No Offline Form

Paper-based (offline) applications will not be accepted.

Apply only through the online mode.


Step 3: Registration on Government Apprenticeship Portals

There are two types of registration portals, depending on your trade:


(A) For NAPS Trades 

Trades under NAPS are mostly ITI / Trade Apprentices.

Register yourself on the Skill India (NAPS) portal:

Registration starts from 16 October 2025.


(B) For NATS Trades 


Trades under NATS are for Graduate and Diploma Apprentices.

Register yourself on the BOAT (NATS) portal:

Registration starts from 17 October 2025.


Step 4: Apply on ONGC Apprentice Portal

After registration on NAPS/NATS, go to ONGC’s official apprentice portal:

How to apply for ONGC Apprentice 2025?

Register on the correct portal and then apply on the ONGC Apprentice portal:

Who is eligible to apply? (Age & domicile)

Age: 18–24 years as on 06.11.2025 (DOB between 06.11.2001 and 06.11.2007). Relaxation: SC/ST 5 yrs, OBC-NCL 3 yrs, PwBD 10–15 yrs.

Domicile/Qualification location must match eligible districts in Annexure-1.

What qualifications are required?
  • Trade Apprentices: 10th/12th/ITI (relevant trade)
  • Technician (Diploma): 3-year Diploma (engg.)
  • Graduate Apprentices: BA/BCom/BSc/BBA/BE/BTech etc.

Qualifications must be recognized by UGC/AICTE/NCVT/SBTE. For Electrician trade, Wireman is not accepted.

What is the stipend during apprenticeship?
  • Graduate: ₹12,300/month
  • Diploma: ₹10,900/month
  • 10th/12th: ₹8,200/month
  • ITI (1-year): ₹9,600/month
  • ITI (2-year): ₹10,560/month

No TA/DA, boarding or lodging is provided.

What is the training duration?

12 months for all trades.

How will candidates be selected?

Selection is based on merit (marks in qualifying exam). In a tie, the older candidate is preferred. Reservation as per Govt. norms.

Can I apply for more than one trade or work centre?

You may submit, but ONGC will allocate only one trade at one centre at its discretion. Apply carefully.

Will ONGC offer a permanent job after apprenticeship?

No. ONGC has no obligation to offer regular employment during/after apprenticeship.
