Candidates applying for the post of Professor in Information Technology must fulfil the following essential qualifications:
1. An eminent scholar having a Ph.D. degree in the concerned, allied or relevant discipline, with published work of high quality and active involvement in research.
2. Candidates must have evidence of published work, including a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals, and a total research score of 120.
3. A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a University/College as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, and/or research experience at an equivalent level in a University or National Level Institution.
4. Candidates should also have evidence of having successfully guided doctoral candidates.
OR
5. An outstanding professional possessing a Ph.D. degree in the relevant, allied or applied disciplines from an academic institution (not included in the above category) or industry, who has made a significant contribution to knowledge in the concerned or allied discipline, supported by documentary evidence, with at least 10 years of experience.
1. A Degree/Diploma in Distance Education or working experience in a Distance Education Institution.
2. Adequate knowledge of computers.
3. Proficiency in both Assamese and English languages.

Candidates applying for the post of Controller of Examinations must possess a Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in a point-scale system wherever grading is followed.
In addition to the educational qualification, candidates must fulfil any one of the following experience requirements:
1. At least 15 years of experience as an Assistant Professor in Academic Level 11 and above, or with 8 years of service in Academic Level 12 and above, including service as Associate Professor, along with experience in educational administration.

2. Comparable experience in a research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education.

3. At least 15 years of administrative experience, out of which 8 years must be as Deputy Registrar or in an equivalent post.
1. A Ph.D. degree from a recognised University.
2. Experience in conducting public examinations in any University. Candidates having experience in an Open University will receive additional weightage.
3. A Degree/Diploma in Distance Education.
4. Experience of working in an Open University or Distance Education System.
5. Working knowledge of computers.
