• A medical qualification included in the I or II Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
• MD/MS in the relevant discipline
OR
• D.M. (Medical Super Speciality) / M.Ch. (Surgical Super Speciality) in the concerned subject.
Experience:
• 14 years teaching and/or research experience after MD/MS
OR
•12 years experience after D.M./M.Ch. (2 or 5 year course)
OR
•11 years experience for candidates with 3-year D.M./M.Ch.
For Non-Medical Candidates
• Master’s Degree in concerned discipline
• Ph.D. in relevant subject
• 14 years teaching/research experience after Doctorate
2. Additional Professor

Important Note on DNB Qualification: Candidates holding DNB must produce documentary evidence regarding equivalence with MD/MS/D.M./M.Ch. as per NMC notification dated 31.10.2018. Additional experience requirements may apply depending on the institution of DNB training.
Salary: The salary for faculty posts will be as per the 7th CPC Pay Matrix:
• Professor – Level 14-A ( Minimum Pay: ₹1,68,900 + NPA (for medically qualified candidates)
• Additional Professor – Level 13-A2+( Minimum Pay: ₹1,48,200 + NPA)
• Associate Professor – Level 13-A1+ ( Minimum Pay: ₹1,38,300 + NPA)
• Assistant Professor – Level 12 ( Minimum Pay: ₹1,01,500 + NPA(Provision to move to Level 13 after three years))
Note: NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) is applicable only for medically qualified candidates.
Maximum Age Limit:
• Professor / Additional Professor: Not exceeding 58 years
• Associate Professor / Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 50 years
• The age will be calculated as on the last date of online application submission.
Age Relaxation:
Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules:
• SC/ST – 5 years
• OBC – 3 years
• PwBD – 10 years
• Government Servants – 5 years
Important Note: No age relaxation will be available to SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates applying against Unreserved posts.
Application Fee: ₹1500 for UR/OBC/EWS candidates. No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates. Fee once paid will not be refunded.
Reservation & Certificates:
• Reservation will be followed as per Government of India policy.
• OBC candidates must submit a valid Non-Creamy Layer certificate of the current financial year.
• EWS candidates must provide a valid EWS certificate as per Government norms.
• PwBD candidates must submit a disability certificate showing at least 40% disability.
Selection Process
• The prescribed qualifications are the minimum requirements. Meeting them does not automatically guarantee an interview call.
• Applications will be screened by a Screening Committee based on the details provided in the online application.
• If a large number of applications are received, a screening test may be conducted to shortlist candidates.
• Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview.
• Candidates must produce original documents at the time of the interview for verification.
• The final method of selection will be decided by the Selection Committee.
• Interviews will be held at AIIMS Guwahati or any other location decided by the Institute.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
