The Directorate of Higher Education, Assam has announced the Combined Merit Scholarship (Fresh) 2025–26 for male students pursuing Degree and Master’s courses in Arts, Science, or Commerce streams. Eligible students can apply online from 8th November to 20th November 2025 through the official DHE portal. The scholarship offers ₹450 for UG and ₹500 for PG students per month via DBT.

Combined Merit Scholarship 2025–26 Eligibility Criteria


1. Minimum Qualifying Marks:

60% in Higher Secondary Final Year (for Degree scholarship).

60% in General Degree Course (for Master’s scholarship).

2. The applicant must be a male student and a domicile of Assam.

3. Must be studying in 1st Semester of General Degree or Master’s Degree Course in any provincialized/ government/ state/ central university of Assam (2024–25 session).

4. Must have an active bank account in the candidate’s name (preferably in SBI).

5. Scholarship will be disbursed through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).

6. Selection will be based strictly on merit and subject to budget availability.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website


Step 2: Check Eligibility


Before applying, make sure you meet these conditions:

You’re a male student from Assam.

You’re studying in 1st Semester of Degree (UG) or Master’s (PG) course.

You scored 60% or above in your previous exam (HS for UG / Degree for PG).


Step 3: Fill Out the Online Application Form


Click on the Apply Online button.

Enter your personal, educational, and bank details carefully.

Upload the required documents in the correct format (PDF/JPG).


Step 4: Upload Required Documents


You’ll need to upload the following:

Certificate from the Registrar/Head of Institution.

1st page of Active Bank Account (with your name, account no. & IFSC code).

Final Marksheet of last qualifying exam (HS or UG).

Photograph and Signature.

Aadhaar Card.


Step 5: Submit & Take Printout


After completing the form, submit it online.

Take a printout of the submitted application form.


Step 6: Submit Hard Copy to College


Submit the printed copy along with supporting documents to your Registrar/Principal/Head of Institution for verification.


Step 7: College/University Verification


The institution will verify and compile all applications.

Verified applications will be forwarded to the Directorate of Higher Education, Assam (DHE), Kahilipara, Guwahati.

Deadline for colleges to submit verified forms: 6th December 2025.

Frequently Asked Questions — Combined Merit Scholarship (Male Students)
Who is eligible to apply?
Male students who are domiciled in Assam and pursuing 1st semester of a General Degree (UG) or Master’s (PG) course in Arts/Science/Commerce at a recognized Govt./Provincialized/State/Central university/college for session 2024–25, and who meet the minimum marks requirement (60%).
What is the minimum qualifying mark?
You must have at least 60% in the relevant last qualifying exam: Higher Secondary final year marks for UG applicants, and General Degree marks for PG applicants.
How much scholarship amount will I receive?
UG students receive ₹450 per month and PG students receive ₹500 per month, disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
What documents are required?
Mandatory documents include:
• Certificate from the Registrar / Head of the Institution (mandatory).
• Photo copy of the 1st page of your active bank account (showing name, account number & IFSC).

How do I apply and what are the important dates?
Apply online only at dhe-operations.assam.gov.in/pg-scholarship-2025-26. Application window: 8th November 2025 to 20th November 2025. After online submission, print the application and submit to your college for verification. Colleges must forward verified forms to DHE by 6th December 2025.
Is a bank account mandatory? Which bank is preferred?
Yes — an active bank account in your name is mandatory for DBT. The advertisement prefers accounts in SBI, but other active accounts with correct IFSC and beneficiary name are acceptable.
What will happen if my application is incomplete or has wrong details?
Applications that are incomplete, contain misinformation, or include an inactive/incorrect bank account will be liable for cancellation. Ensure all fields and uploaded documents are accurate before final submission.
How are beneficiaries selected?
Selection is made strictly on the basis of merit and subject to budget allocation. The final list of beneficiaries will be notified on the DHE website.
