Eligibility Criteria:

1. Employment Condition: Candidate must be working as Contractual or State Pool Teacher under SSA, Assam as of 30th September 2025.

2. Experience: Must have completed a minimum of 3 years of continuous service as a Contractual or State Pool teacher under SSA as on 30th September 2025.

3. Qualification: Educational and professional qualifications must be as per NCTE norms and existing Government rules.

            

                 NCTE Qualification Norms for Teachers:

a). Lower Primary Teacher (Classes I–V)

To be eligible for appointment as a Lower Primary (LP) Teacher, a candidate must have:

Essential Qualification:

Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks

and

2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) (by whatever name known)

OR

Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and 2-year D.El.Ed in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002

OR

Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

OR

Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)

OR

Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

AND

Must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Government of Assam for LP level.



b). Upper Primary Teacher (Classes VI–VIII)

For the post of Upper Primary (UP) Teacher, a candidate must possess:

Essential Qualification:

Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed)

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed)

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and 1-year B.Ed in accordance with the NCTE Regulations, 2002

OR

Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.El.Ed

OR

Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed.

AND

Must have passed the Upper Primary (Middle School) TET conducted by the Government of Assam.


Additional Notes:

Candidates must ensure that all teacher education courses (D.El.Ed/B.Ed/B.El.Ed) are recognized by NCTE.

TET qualification is mandatory for both LP and UP levels.

Preference may be given to candidates having higher academic qualifications or teaching experience under SSA.
